I'm working on getting it back up and I'll post here again when that's done.

Posts and whatnot will be back!

Everything has been moved to the new board except for the archived and solo stories.

You can go ahead and log in with the information sent to your email address or re-register if you did not receive an email. If you have already been there, please disregard this message.

Solo stories have not been reposted because if one of us posts it for you, you won't be able to reply. Only the topic starter can create replies. They are available here for you to copy. Just log in as usual. Once I see that everyone has copied their stories, those boards will longer be available.

If you have any questions, ask me, but most can be answered by visiting this board.

Well I know there's a lot of going back and forth between this place and the new one.

You'll note that I've taken away some boards because any new posts should be done on the new board.

What I have left available now is here:

So the writers can continue to transfer their work
Get ideas for conversational topics/posts that you'd like to see in the new place

Also, there has been a change to the Arcade.

Guests should be able to play the games now and posts are no longer required on this forum only.

The reason being is that until we get the new arcade sorted out and can offer more variety, I can't expect people to be registered in both places just so they can play the games. That's silly.

Eventually, when all the stories/poetry, etc is transferred over - I might keep this as a place to store drafts. It's not ideal, but we don't have that ability on the new board and who knows when we will, if ever. We'll see about that - it's just an idea.

Okay, obviously, copying post by post would be ridiculous - especially with the amount of pages some of them have.

Here's what I do:

- Go to the topic you wish to copy
- Click Print - BUT DON'T ACTUALLY PRINT, cancel the little dialogue that comes up from your printer
- This should open a printer-friendly page of the story
- Select/highlight everything except for the SMF copyright info at the bottom
- Right click > copy
- Open a new topic on the new board in the appropriate section
- Enter the title
- Paste what you've copied into the message body

If it's large, you might want to break it up a little (make sure you keep track of where you left off - use post dates and times to guide you) because those printer friendly things will give you the entire story on one page, which is a bit much for one post!

Also, please make sure that you are copying your own individual stories only. Because if you copy someone else's solo story, they won't be able to post on it and it will have to be recopied by them.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Well, I would welcome any help in transferring the stories or anything else you'd like to bring over. Smiley

The quicker that gets done, the quicker we can get back to business as usual.
